Foundation brushes and sponges are tools used to put on your makeup. In most cases they are just as important as the makeup itself. There as also a great many techniques out there for which the method of applying makeup works the best. Since there are so many great ways to apply your makeup I thought I would list some brushes, and sponges to help go along with the foundation recommendations. Your hands are often the germist part of your body so lots of makeup artists prefer to use foundation brushes as opposed to using your fingers. For those of use who also have acne prone or oily skin this might ring doubly true since the last thing we need is to add more germs to our already susceptible pores. This however is not always a foolproof plan of action since foundation brushes can also harbor bacteria if not cleaned out regularly.
Another common method of applying foundation is with makeup sponges. Sponges are often cheap and thrown away or rinsed out on an as needed basis making them another great option for applying makeup to oily skin.
For those of you who don’t use brushes or sponges please make sure to wash your hands throughly before applying makeup to always cleaned beforehand skin. Using your fingers does allow greater control over where the makeup goes and allows more room to build up layers over broken out areas. I use all three of the methods weekly depending on how my skin is looking every morning.
