Aloe Vera For Oily, Acne Prone Skin
There are several skin conditions that Aloe Vera can help to improve such as Sun Burn, Accidental Burn, Acne, Psoriasis, Eczema, Insect bites, Cut, Wound, Herpes, Lichen Planus, Seborrhoea etc.
How Aloe Vera Treats Acne
Aloe vera gel has antimicrobial properties that kill bacteria and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation. It allows the skin to heal quickly and naturally with minimal scarring. Aloe is moisturizing but doesn`t give skin a greasy feel, so it`s perfect for anyone with an oily complexion.
Inside Aloe Vera leaves there is a Gel-like substance. This gel has a vast range of Vitamins , Vitamin E , Minerals, Amino Acids & Enzymes. Aloe is a very a close match to our Skin’s pH balance, even more so then jojoba oil I talked about last week. Therefore, it is able to moisturize and heal skin fast and effectively as it mimics our skins natural oils. Aloe Vera enhances the activity of Fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are special cells found in the Skin that create Fiber such as Collagen & Elastin. These Fibers give Skin its structure and make it look fleshy and supple. The more we have it the more smooth our skin stays with less wrinkling as we age.
Deep in the Epidermis, Skin cells are rather large and very much alive when first formed but by the time they reach the surface (usually after 21-18 days in normal skin)they are a just a shade of their former nature and are transformed to slight flakes of Keratin which ultimately fall off. Applying aloe daily helps to reach these deep cells and keep them more healthy and supple looking as they reach the surface of the skin.
How to use Aloe Vera topically
For best results use twice a day after cleansing as part of your skin care routine. Simply rub the aloe all over with clean hands or cotton round after washing. You can apply makeup and other products over the aloe as it just acts the same as your typical moisturizer cream.
You can use the actual Aloe Vera plant, which you can buy at most store’s or at a plant nursery.
Or you can buy the bottled aloe, the key to buying the right product is to look at the amount of aloe contained in the product. You want the read the ingredients on the back of the bottle and the first ingredient listed should be aloe, and then list other ingredients.
